What changed?
AI is moving closer to the factory floor. Samsung says its new partnership with France’s Mistral AI will bring customised models into semiconductor engineering and manufacturing, with systems running inside Samsung’s own infrastructure.
The announcement names defect detection and equipment optimisation as intended applications. Keeping sensitive operational data on-premises is a central part of the plan. Samsung also says it led Mistral’s Series D funding round.
