What changed?

SK hynix used its 2026 Future Forum to describe how longer-running, multi-agent workloads could change memory design. As agents retain more context, task state and intermediate results, the company argues that a single general-purpose memory layer will struggle to meet every capacity, bandwidth and access requirement.

Its proposed Full-Stack AI Memory strategy combines technologies including 3D-stacked DRAM, high-bandwidth memory and high-bandwidth flash. SK hynix says it wants to co-design systems with partners across AI services, software and accelerators, while also applying AI to semiconductor work such as circuit simulation, equipment data and anomaly analysis.

What should you keep in mind?

This was a strategy forum rather than a finished-product launch. The technical direction, timelines and performance gains remain company plans and expert forecasts; commercial products and independent benchmarks will be needed to show how the approach performs in practice.
